Reflection on Process
While I was shooting for this project the main thing that I have focused on abstract things that I see on a daily basis. Aaron Siskind focused on abstract things and things that he would find on a daily basis. The pictured that I chose to photograph were things that I thought were abstract. Some techniques that I used for this project were movement in the first picture when I was on a hike. For the second picture I took it close-up to really focus on the cracks on the floor and the other detail's also. In the the third picture the techniques that I used were close-up and pattern in the ground. These 3 images really don't have any point to them but that's what Siskind tried to do. He tried to take pictures that he would forget when they were but he would remember the reason why he took the picture. Mostly all of Siskind's photo's were in black and white but I didn't want to change them to black and white because I wanted to be able to see the different pattern in the picture and see that they really have no meaning to it. In the picture with the leaves and the cable cords it brings out the abstract feeling because the cable cords are all tangled and on the bottom of the picture you can see the mess. When I was shooting these pictures I learned about Aaron Siskind and I also learned more about photographing abstract things.
